The Storage Hub of the NMCK
The Storage Hub of the NMCK is where the collection of 5 National Museums within the complex are safely stored.
The Storage is equipped with HVAC system that controls temperature and humidity to ensure that the collection is comserved-utilized in optimal conditions.
The storage facility not only physically integrates the storage spaces of the 5 National Museums, but also unifies key operations for the collection conducted within the facility, such as 'Registration-Management' and 'Conservation'.
This enhances operational efficiency and expertise, also broadening the scope and value of the collection by sharing·utilizing the information between individual museums.
The Storage Hub of the NMCK is planned to consist total of 9 storage areas.
Currently(2024.03.~), 2 storage facilities(Open/Complex Storage) are in operation, and with the opening of the National Museum of
Architecture and Urbanism(NMAU) in 2026, and additional of 7 storage facilities are expected to be established and put into operation.
Since the optimal temperature and humidity settings for the specific materials of the collection, each storage facility is operated with adapted temperature and humidity conditions differ depending on the material of the collection.
'Open Storage' reveals the hidden areas of the museum, the storage facilities, that visitors could rarely see.
This area is where visitors can go inside the storage and see the collection closely, also finding out and experience the operations done in the storage, such as 'Registration-Management' and 'Conservation'.
